Briefcut is operated by Aetheris Holdings Ltd, a company registered in England & Wales (Company No. 17365139). This policy covers the free script-scoring tool at briefcut.app.
Briefcut doesn't ask you to sign up, doesn't use cookies, and doesn't keep a record of what you personally submitted. We built it this way deliberately — this policy is short because there genuinely isn't much to tell you.
The script text you submit. When you paste a script into Briefcut, that text is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate a hook-strength score and feedback. The response is sent back to your browser. We do not store your script text on our own servers, and we do not build any record tied to you personally.
Your IP address, briefly. To stop the free tool being abused (for example, by automated scripts sending thousands of requests), we temporarily use your IP address to apply two rate limits: how many requests have come from that address in the last minute, and how many in the current day.
The daily count is keyed to a one-way hash of your address rather than the address itself, so the record cannot be read back as a list of visitors. It is reset every day and does not survive a restart of the service. Neither count is linked to any script content, and neither is used for any purpose beyond these technical limits.
Anonymous aggregate usage counts. We keep simple counts of overall usage — how many scores were served, roughly how long submitted scripts tend to be, and how many distinct people used the tool on a given day.
To count people rather than clicks, we convert your address into a one-way hash that changes every day. The practical effect is that we can tell one visitor from two on the same day, and cannot tell that today's visitor is the same person as yesterday's. We never hold anything readable as an address, none of it survives a restart of the service, and none of it is linked to script content or to an email address.
These counts exist so we can tell whether the tool is worth continuing with. They are not used to build a profile, target anyone, or follow anyone around.
Your email address, only if you give it to us. After a teardown you can optionally ask to be told when the full Briefcut app is ready. If you tick the box and submit an address, we store four things and nothing else: that address, the date you gave it, the exact wording you agreed to, and a short label recording which part of the site the signup came from. We do not store your IP address, your browser, or any script you submitted alongside it.
We use it for exactly one thing: a single email when the app launches. We will not add you to a newsletter, sell or share the address, or use it for advertising. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you gave by ticking a box that was not ticked for you. You can have it removed at any time by emailing hello@aetherisgroup.co.uk — no reason needed, and we'll confirm once it's done. We'll delete the list entirely if the app doesn't ship.
Your submitted script text is processed by Anthropic (the Claude API) to generate the score and feedback. Anthropic's own privacy practices govern how they handle API requests — see anthropic.com/legal/privacy. We don't share any other data with any other third party.

If you have not given us your email address, we hold no personal data tied to you, so there is generally nothing to request, correct, or delete — there's no record to look up.
If you have given us your email address, you have the usual UK GDPR rights over it: to ask what we hold (it will be the address, the date, and the consent wording), to have it corrected, to have it erased, and to withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawing consent and asking for erasure are the same thing here, since the address is the only record.
For any of these, email hello@aetherisgroup.co.uk and we'll action it and confirm. You also have the right to complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.
If this tool changes to add accounts, payments, or any other feature that processes personal data (for example, the full Briefcut app), this policy will be updated to reflect that before those features go live, and the "last updated" date above will change.
